Different Types of Dental Implants
We can restore your function and aesthetic with the placement of dental implants. At Our Dentist, Dr. Brahmbhatt can replace a single missing tooth, multiple missing teeth, or even an entire mouthful, improving your speech and chewing ability all while giving you a smile to be proud of. Dental implants are a permanent replacement option for missing teeth that give you the closest natural feel of your own teeth. Following an evaluation, we can create a dental plan that goes at your pace, and works with your schedule to give you a fantastic smile and improve your oral health.
The two commonly used implant styles include:
||Endosteal implants: These are the most commonly used form of implants. It is a dental prosthesis that Dr. Brahmbhatt partially submerges and anchors in the jawbone. Once the area has healed, he can then attach a crown or other prosthesis such as a bridge or denture to it.
||Subperiosteal implants: Also known as a denture bar attachment, this consists of a metal frame that becomes fixed to the jawbone with healing. Posts on the bar denture allow for artificial teeth to be placed.
Single Tooth Implant
A single tooth replacement can be a very important dental procedure. Many patients feel that missing a tooth is no big deal, but the reality is that it is. After a tooth has been removed, whether due to decay, extraction, or impact injury, there is a series of events that then occur. From teeth shifting, to bone atrophy, or bite adjusting, to an impairment of speech or function, a single missing tooth can be a problem. We can replace that missing tooth with a dental implant. Dr. Brahmbhatt places a titanium post directly into your jawbone to serve as a new tooth root. Once the post has bonded with your bone and tissue, he can then place an artificial tooth, or dental crown, over the post, giving you a perfect tooth.
Multiple Teeth Implant Replacement
At Our Dentist, we can replace multiple missing teeth using a bridge system and one or two implant posts to serve as anchors. A traditional bridge consists of two anchor teeth with false teeth between. This idea requires two healthy teeth to attach the bridge firmly in place. When a patient does not have the healthy teeth needed, we can place a tooth implant to serve as that anchor to attach your bridge to.
Implant Retained Dentures
Traditional dentures are known for being loose in your mouth, limiting what you can eat and causing social anxiety. We can firmly and permanently set your dentures in place with the placement of implants. With either the placement of multiple implants or with the denture bar attachment, we can give you a full set of teeth that never need to be removed, and can allow you to eat your favorite foods without fear of loose teeth. This system offers our patients a dramatic upgrade from the traditional denture, improving their function and helping them feel comfortable in their teeth.
Missing teeth can lead to much larger issues, it can affect your oral health, your whole health, your self worth, and how the world sees you. Don’t let missing teeth get in your way.
